Have you ever been so desperate that you needed to go to a food bank to get one?
Well, when Friends of Isaac’s Food Bank CIC opened, that was the first item to go.
Not the whole packet, just one. The little girl who needed it took one and left the rest of the packet for someone else.
Fast forward 3 and a half years and Isaac, now 12 (so yes, he was 9 when he started this venture) is responsible for:
❤5 food banks across Redditch
💚15 volunteers who support the charity
💙5,000 food parcels being delivered in 2023
💜2,500 delivered already this year
He also realised that when the Ukraine war began it meant no power for those living there. No way of communicating with loved ones.
So he did what any other 10 year old would do – he sent solar powered chargers out there!
He’s still sending them and a number of them are actively being used on the front line.
So yeah, when Isaac was listed as a finalist for the Rising Star of the Year award at the BSN Awards 2024, as sponsor I absolutely knew I needed to meet him.
